What are the Reader's Saying about
Talk of Your Towne?

“Greetings, maker of TOYT!  Thank you so much for your efforts in making the Newsletter.  I’ve been living in North Carolina for a little less than 2 years now, and your little publication was exactly what I need to help get to know the area, the events, and the local businesses.  I appreciate very much the Around the Town Events, where I recently learned BB King will be performing nearby on my birthday!  I’m lousy at Sudoku, but it does pass the time (quite well, in my case).  I like knowing there is somewhere I can post a very reasonable sell ad where someone local will be able to benefit from it.  Thus far my favorite thing about TOYT, aside from the catchy name, is the ‘Did You Know’ section.  Thanks to it, I am now more afraid of pigs than I am of sharks!”

“I enjoy getting Talk of Your Towne because it gives me a chance to get better involved in my community. The news letter provides great details on lots of businesses in the area that I may never have heard of through any other means.  Not only do I get to read up on local businesses and help them to thrive by giving them my business but I also enjoy the interaction that TOYT gives through snippets of information (like how to thread a needle) and fun things such as Sudoku puzzles.”

“What I really enjoy is the “Getting To Know” stories behind the local businesses. I feel a larger sense of community when I know the background of one of my local businesses.”

“I just received my first issue of Talk of Your Towne and I really like reading about things going on right in my neighborhood of Brier Creek. I loved all the local advertisements and specials they were offering.  Having just moved to Raleigh only a year ago, I am still learning what the area has to offer and reading the articles about businesses in the area was very helpful!”

                                    Sarah ~ Brier Creek

“Talk of Your Towne" is by far the best local publication. It is very informative. The helpful hints are my favorite and I look forward to it every month!”

“I love all the personal touches to this publication. I am from a small town in NY and Talk of Your Towne feels like a small town newspaper.  It has something for everyone. I especially like Helpful Hints, Around the Town Events and the For Kids by Kids.  I always read Talk of Your Towne from cover to cover as soon as I get it, and look forward to it every month. Thank You!”

“I really like the Sudoku puzzle and the coupons/advertisements in the TOYT.  Also, I enjoyed reading the “Did you know” section most of which I had not previously known.  The layout & decorative format of TOYT makes it very attractive and fun to read.  Since I just moved here to Wake Forest, this was my first copy of TOYT and I found it so interesting, I read it from front to back! Very nice work!”

“My favorite part of your publication is the “Did You Know” section. I love learning facts; strange, normal, historical, stupid, it doesn’t matter, I think they are fun!”

“I honestly love everything about this paper.  I like the ‘Around the Town Events’ it keeps me updated on things happening around town.  I frequently tear that page out and post it to my fridge.  And the advertisements, when my husband and I are in need of a service, I will look here first.  For example:  this past month we needed some mulch delivered and sure enough there was a listing for someone local who did that.”

“First of all, thanks for putting this newsletter together.  Where were you 10 years ago?  This newsletter is great, has information about a little of everything.  I like the ‘Did you Know’ and the ‘Helpful Hints’ section.  Who would think sharpei means SHARK SKIN. “

I thoroughly, enjoy reading Talk of Your Towne.  The varied content of riddles, trivia, how-to articles, and recipes remind me of how I enjoyed reading the Mini Pages with my grandmother, Nana, every week as a child.  My grandparents had the newspaper delivered to their house every day and Nana would set aside the Mini Pages to share with me on my weekly visit to her house.  We would experiment with the recipes together in her kitchen, try out the jokes and riddles on unsuspecting friends and family, and she would help me complete the puzzles.  Talk of Your Towne is my grown-up version of the Mini Pages.  I enjoy trying out the recipes, puzzling over the riddles, and learning interesting things in the "Helpful Hints" and "Did You Know" sections.
